DIY iPad mount

I've had the itch to mount an iPad mini as my head unit. I decided go big or go home... I have an old iPad 1 that I rigged a removable mount in front of the existing radio for music videos and movies and everything else an iPad has to offer.

I used VW radio keys, bolted them to a piece of Al angle iron. Painted it black with plasti-dip. And inserted the keys in the holes they were made to go into. The keys are super flimsy but sturdy enough to hold the iPad. The plasti dip acts as a rubber to keep the iPad from getting scratched and sliding around.
